Castle Rock’s location, low crime rate and historic downtown have helped attract an influx of newcomers to town.  Beloved by locals and visitors alike, all of whom flock to the area to experience its numerous cultural events, outdoor attractions, and one of a kind shops and restaurants. The Douglas County Fair, Rodeo and Parade continues to be a family tradition for the residents of Douglas County, Colorado. Highlights include 2 entertainment stages, 3 PRCA Rodeos, Xtreme Bulls, Carnival, Antique Tractor Pull, Mutton Bustin, Stick Horse Rodeo, Pancake Breakfast, 4-H and FFA exhibits – including livestock, general projects and the Jr. Livestock Sale.  For those more into the nostalgic experience, the Castle Rock Starlighting is sure to impress even the biggest of Scrooges.  Presented by the Castle Rock Chamber of Commerce, the Castle Rock “Lighting of the Star” has been a community event shared by residents dating back to 1935. The same spirit of volunteerism, generosity and love of tradition exists today as Castle Rock businesses and residents prepare to celebrate Starlighting downtown on the Saturday before Thanksgiving.

Other notable events include the Castle Rock WineFest; a showcase of Colorado wines, and the Colorado Artfest at Castle Rock; a juried fine arts festival with artists from around the country. Castle Rock’s hometown charm, beautiful views and unique culture attracts more and more people annually;
