LET’S HONOR AND CELEBRATE THE LIFE OF JR PINON
JR Pinon was a Funeral Director in Castle Rock for nearly 10 years, he was passionate about making the Castle Rock community the best place to live. During his time as a Funeral Director in Castle Rock, he was deeply involved in the community such as being a student with Leadership Douglas County, the following year he had been a mentor to the current Leadership Douglas County students. JR was also heavily involved with the Castle Rock Chamber of Commerce as well as the local Pastoral community.
JR was always willing to lend a hand in whatever way he could, whether it was by buying someone lunch, supporting a local charity, or a shoulder to lean on.
During the pandemic the Funeral Home started to see an increase in the rate of suicides which caused him a lot of deep sorrow for the families suffering loss. JR had often tried to figure out what he could do to help, he had often talked about putting together an event for suicide awareness and prevention.
Unfortunately, before this idea could be put together, JR lost his battle and took his own life. We have put this run together in JR’s memory and his wish to see a positive change to prevent suicide, especially in the youth as that was a passion of JR’s, and to provide a free resource to families struggling within their own homes.
You are never alone in your battle with mental illness.
This run is not only the opportunity for those who knew JR to find closure within his passing, but for us to also support a cause he was so passionate about.
