Small Business Saturday is an American shopping holiday held during the Saturday after US Thanksgiving during one of the busiest shopping periods of the year. This Saturday is always the last one in November, so falls between November 24th and November 30th.
The initiative started in 2010, and in 2011, the Senate unanimously passed a resolution in support of the day, and officials in all 50 states participated.
The dollars you spend on Small Business Saturday make a difference beyond retailers’ doors. Small businesses create local jobs and pay local taxes, which keeps money circulating within communities.
