January is National Blood Donor Month and the intent of the month has never been more important than it is right now. The United States is facing a critical shortage of blood products, due in large part to the COVID-19 pandemic.There are a number of reasons why a person may need to receive blood, including birth traumas, cancer patients, conditions like sickle cell, and various accidents. It’s more than collecting blood – it’s about making a difference. As our HealthONE hospitals, the Colorado Blood Cancer Institute at Presbyterian/St. Luke’s Medical Center and medical facilities across the country continue to experience the national blood shortage, we hope you will consider donating blood.
