Nationwide Blood Shortage Continues – Our Patients Need Your Help
January is National Blood Donor Month and the intent of the month has never been more important than it is right now. The United States is facing a critical shortage of blood products, due in large part to the COVID-19 pandemic.
There are a number of reasons why a person may need to receive blood, including birth traumas, cancer patients, conditions like sickle cell, and various accidents.
It’s more than collecting blood – it’s about making a difference. As our HealthONE hospitals, the Colorado Blood Cancer Institute at Presbyterian/St. Luke’s Medical Center and medical facilities across the country continue to experience the national blood shortage, we hope you will consider donating blood.
