Sculptures, paintings and other art pieces help color our community, thanks to the Town’s public art program.
A group of community volunteers, the Public Art Commission, identifies priorities and goals related to acquiring art for public buildings and parks in Town.
That group is currently working to update its guiding document, the Public Art Master Plan, and they want your thoughts.
A brief questionnaire regarding public art is available through early February at CRgov.com/publicart. Please take time to provide your thoughts to the team that’s working to update the plan, which includes professionals from Denver’s Art Management & Planning Assoc. Inc. The update is expected to be complete this summer.
The Town’ presently has nearly 30 pieces of public art. Pictures of the pieces are available on the public art webpage.
Public art in Castle Rock is funded by Philip S. Miller’s trust fund; no taxpayer money is used to purchase public art.
