The Castle Rock Senior Center, Inc., was first started by a small group of people in Douglas County as a Senior Citizen Club in late 1971. We have evolved into a non-profit 501(C)3 organization with a present membership of 900+.
We moved to the Castle Rock Community Recreation Center in the spring of 1997. We have a service agreement with the Town of Castle Rock, through which we provide services to local seniors, and the Town provides space for our use in the Community Center as well as some financial support for our programs.
A Board of Directors appoints committee chairpersons and sets policy for the Center. We are proud to have recently appointed an Advisory Board, made up of community leaders and senior citizen advocates.
Members and staff are responsible for raising most of our operating revenue. In addition to the funding we receive from the Town, we receive support from the County for our transportation services.
Our paid staff consists of an Executive Director, Assistant Director, Transportation Manager, Volunteer Coordinator, Front Desk Coordinator, and part-time Kitchen Coordinator. All other functions are accomplished by utilization of our many wonderful volunteers who provided over 33,000 hours in 2015.
