GorgeousRiver Spring Up the Creek
“April showers bring May flowers,” and also uncover a winter’s worth of debris on our creek banks. Get into the spirit of spring cleaning at the Town’s annual Spring Up the Creek event.
For the 22nd year, Spring Up the Creek brings volunteers together to beautify our community by removing trash along the trails near East Plum Creek and Sellars Gulch. Your donation of time will provide cleaner water quality for one of Castle Rock’s renewable water supplies.
Having a cleaner creek means a healthier environment for our wildlife and reduces water purification costs at the Town’s treatment plants. Castle Rock Water hosts this event in partnership with Castle Pines Metro District, Chatfield Watershed Authority, Douglas County and Plum Creek Water Reclamation Authority.
Ready to pitch in? Visit CRgov.com/SpringUp to register to help out on one of 10 trail segments.
Volunteers will be provided with gloves, hand sanitizer, trash bags, pooper scoopers and other cleanup supplies. Snacks and water will also be available at the trailheads.
All ages are welcome. Participants will receive pet waste bags, as well as a magnet reminding them that only rain goes down the storm drain, while supplies last. This event is an excellent opportunity to fulfill community service hours.
Online registration and a completed waiver are required before the event.
