Unique Castle Rock Dining Experiences for the Entire Family
The Castle Hotel and Bar was the gathering place for quarry workers, ranchers and travelers during the 1890’s. In those days, the bar was one of the wildest in the area. Although reports of shootouts were not confirmed, brawls were so common that Douglas County was forced to hire an extra deputy to patrol on paydays. The Deputy was also responsible for restraining inebriated cowboys from riding their horses through the bar. Around 1910, The Castle Hotel and Cafe became the stopover for travelers between Denver and Colorado Springs. A dance hall was built over the bar and served as a community center during the roaring 20’s, depressing 30’s and early 40’s.
Modern doesn’t need to mean uptight. If a personal touch and a unique experience is what you are looking for, look no further. This cozy, upbeat venue offers intimate or community seating as well as an airy deck with views of the downtown skyline for your dining pleasure. Their menu reveals a healthy and inspired collusion of rustic Italian, vibrant Mediterranean and forward-thinking American influences (among others). At any given lunch or dinner service you’re likely to see Chef Kim or Union’s other owners (Dennis and Christina) at the helm.
Rockyard American Grill and Brewing Company
Rockyard American Grill and Brewing Company Owners Mike and Jeff Drabing have always had a passion for good friends, great beer and awesome food. In 1999, Mike and Jeff brought that passion to life when they opened the Rockyard American Grill and Brewing Company in Castle Rock, CO.
As the first of its kind (and still the hands down favorite in the region), their craft brew and handcrafted menus reflect directly upon the natural resources and distinct characteristics of the Rocky Mountains. Whether it’s a family get together or gathering for a few beers after the game, it’s all about good times and good friends at the Rockyard.
Not far from the Courthouse in beautiful Castle Rock stands the Augustine Grill, a warm Victorian home built in 1902. Owners, Mike and Anna welcome their guests into the restaurant as one would be welcomed into their home. The menu reflects a skilled balance of traditional dishes blended with the chef’s special experience; an American flavor with an eclectic selection of sauces.
VistaVino – the perfect name for the latest offering by seasoned restaurateurs Janine and Michael Glennon. Their love of food, wine and stunning scenery brought both to Colorado in the 1990’s. Michael and Janine’s passion for great food and good wine along with their emphasis for friendly people has recently found renewed energy in this Castle Rock Restaurant. VistaVino sets the latest stage for Michael’s creative cuisine combining influences from around the world with a Tuscan focus. The views are now of Castle Rock, Janine carefully selects the wines, the food is better than ever; all are served with confidence and care.
Old Stone Church
The Old Stone Church has stood since 1888. In 1975 it was remodeled to become a restaurant. In 1992 it became what you know it to be today: a warm, inviting refuge from the everyday, the best happy hour in town, and inspired American cuisine to share with family and friends.
