Nesting Golden Eagles prompt one-mile closure of East-West Regional Trail
A one-mile section of the East-West Regional Trail in Douglas County closed effective March 6 until further notice.
Spring is here and there’s new life in Douglas County… and new life is exactly what caused a section of the Douglas County East-West Regional Trail to close on March 6.
In compliance with federal and state law, the return of nesting Golden Eagles will keep the trail section closed until further notice.
Douglas County thanks you for respectfully allowing this protected species the opportunity and space to nurture new life.
