Gotta get down with First Fridays; live music and more at Festival Park June 7
Are you working for the weekend? Looking for ways to unwind? If you’ve got Friday on your mind, we’ve got the perfect solution. Spend time Downtown this summer with the Town’s First Fridays event series.
On the first Friday of the month, June through September, head to Festival Park to enjoy live music, food trucks, cocktails, kids activities and more. Live music begins at 5 p.m. The festivities continue until 9 p.m. The entire series kicks off Friday, June 7, with Dueling Pianos.
Don’t miss this high-energy, interactive evening with the talented musicians of Howl at the Moon. Belt out your favorite tunes and dance in the park, all while enjoying food-truck fare and cocktails. Don’t forget to request your favorite song!
With yard games, family friendly activities and a themed run/walk, First Fridays are perfect nights to bring the entire family Downtown. Before you indulge in the Friday fun, the 5K after 5 series will keep you moving through the summer season. June’s theme is a 5K Poker Run.
Start the run/walk at Festival Park with a playing card. Collect an additional card every 1K, and finish the run with a full hand. Then, turn in your poker hand to complete for prizes. Participants also receive a free beer or soft drink after the run.

Festival Park is home to several events all season. Since the park was reimagined, it has become the heartbeat of Downtown Castle Rock. At the June 7 First Friday event, the Colorado Lottery will be presenting the Town with the Starburst Award to recognize the park for best use of lottery funds.
