If a picture is worth a thousand words, our community certainly has a lot to say.
As part of the 2021 joint public art program “Painting Positivity,” the Town’s Public Art Commission and the Castle Rock Artist Cooperative are teaming up to invite the public to submit photographs of what positivity means to our community.
While the past year has been challenging, this program seeks to use art to trigger important conversations and be the drop of positivity that creates a ripple effect in our community. Photographs submitted by the public will hopefully start these conversations and make positivity the star attraction.
Selected photos will be used to create several large- and small-scale images or mosaics throughout Castle Rock. Businesses may feature these temporary installations on their buildings and sidewalks, and the images may be utilized in public art installations such as vinyl wraps, murals or other forms of art.
Deadline to submit is Friday, April 30. To submit up to 12 photos, go to paintingpositivity.org. Photographers will be asked to sign a waiver/release upon submission to ensure that the photos were taken by the photographer.
Photos must be submitted in JPG format, be at least 300 dpi with an RGB color profile, square 1:1 ratio, and a minimum of 3,600 by 3,600 pixels. The request for entries is open to professional and amateur photographers alike, and people of all ages.
Make a positive impact, submit images and learn more at paintingpositivity.org.
