A puppy from the Dumb Friends League will be representing Denver during Puppy Bowl XIII on Sunday, Feb. 5 from 1-3 p.m. (MST) as the world’s cutest sporting event returns to Animal Planet.
The puppy from the Dumb Friends League was drafted to star in Puppy Bowl XIII to complete Animal Planet’s starting line-up of adoptable players for the Big Game.
Although small in stature–Squirt, the Dumb Friends League Puppy Bowl XIII starter is sure to make the Mile High City proud.

Squirt.
SQUIRT AT A GLANCE:
Name: Squirt
Stats: Dachshund/Rat Terrier Mix, 12 weeks old, 3 lbs.
Team: Ruff
Status: Adorable
Small, but agile. Tiny, but bold. Squirt’s unique set of skills caught the eye of Puppy Bowl XIII recruiters. With an aptitude for being adorable, this small puppy impressed recruiters with his petite size and passions for fetching and snuggling. Squirt’s Puppy Bowl XIII debut comes after training for weeks in a Dumb Friends League foster home. There, he mastered his “awww-factor” skills, charming men and women alike. When asked what life after the Puppy Bowl looked like, Squirt commented that he was “looking forward to spending plenty of time cuddled-up with his new forever family.”

The Dumb Friends League is among 34 shelters and rescue groups representing 22 states across the U.S. participating in Puppy Bowl XIII. Squirt was adopted following the event.
“The Puppy Bowl is more than entertainment,” said Joan Thielen, communications specialist for the Dumb Friends League. “It encourages adoption, a message that is engrained in every aspect of the event. We are proud to partner with Animal Planet to help drive that message into millions of homes across the country that will be watching.”
In addition to watching Squirt in action, viewers can also enjoy the Kitty Half-Time Show, adoption success stories and lots of fun animal antics during the two-hour program.
Animal Planet’s Puppy Bowl XIII premiers Sunday, Feb. 5, 2016, from 1 – 3 p.m. (MST) and repeats all day and night until 1 a.m. “Tail”gating starts at 12:00 p.m. with the Puppy Bowl Pre-Game Show, featuring analysis and commentary from a team of sports correspondents.
